What are the holidays without some deliciously, sweet treats? If you're anything like me, then you like to cozy up watching Christmas Hallmark movies with some decadent hot chocolate in hand. Not just any hot chocolate though. I grew up drinking Haitian hot chocolate and I can shamelessly admit that I am completely spoiled and the generic powdered boxes simply won't suffice.

You may not know that I am a 1st generation Haitian-American born to 2 immigrants who literally came to the US to seek a better life for themselves and their future family (my little brother & I), and for that I will always have immense gratitude.
I was raised with this interesting dichotomy of growing up as an American, but yet still being very much exposed and grounded with my native roots. We ate plantains, rice & beans, and squash soup, like everyday haha!! And I am not gonna lie there were lots of times (as I kid) I was totally like “Mannn why can’t we just be normal and eat hamburgers or Chef-Boy-Yardee for dinner?!” Haha!!
As I grew up I realized how ridiculous I sounded and wouldn’t change my roots for nada! I grew up drinking Haitian Hot Chocolate and I can honestly admit that I am totally spoiled and the generic powdered boxes simply won't do. And so I wanted to share with you one of our many decadent Haitian cuisine delicacies that I can never get enough of during the holiday &
