So Valentine's Day snuck up on ya and you're frantically looking for ways to stay out of the dog house by making the day special haha!! Or maybe you're kind-of bored with the same mundane notions...flowers & dinner (Nothing wrong with those by the way, so please ladies & gents continue to keep those on the roster haha!!)
But, for those of you who are also interested in taking a bit of a different approach or doing a little more, but you're still a bit stumped on what you should do (Or maybe you're slightly introverted like myself & rather skip the crowded restaurants...), then just think of all the pasta-bilities!
I wrote this last-minute blog post with some fun romantic date-night ideas and gifts that go beyond the usual flowers & dinner ressies in order to opt for something intimate & out-of-the-box. Read on for "7 Unique & Fun Last Minute Valentine's Day Date Ideas," or watch me here in action!

1. ) Valentine's Day "At Home" Dinner Date - Thinking of All The Pasta-bilities!
From Chinese takeout to heart-shaped pizza to prime steak, there's nothing like an intimate romantic dinner at home with you and your boo. And, it's completely feasible for you to achieve this with proper planning & great recipes! Making the meal together is an awesome quality-time, bonding experience (like with that heart-shaped homemade pizza I mentioned earlier), BUT if you'd like to try and cook dinner on your very own accord for your love, anddd it's kinda your first time in the kitchen making an entire full course meal, then I wouldn't necessarily opt for the prime steak just yet haha!! I would stick to easy yet delicious recipes that don't require too many ingredients and that you can sort-of make with your eyes closed.

Speaking of which (!!!), like pizza...Pasta, is always a likely favorite amongst many, so head over to the store and grab those ingredients and go to town! Even better if you can get your hands on some heart-shaped pasta; I got mine from Amazon (I know, what else is new? Haha!!). Ya know me by now...I'm always about those chic, little details, and so these are the unique, small touches, that elevate the overall experience for any occasion! I even paired the dinner I chef'd up with a fondue set that I got off of-you guessed it, Amazon! Haha!! I simply melted some milk chocolate bars that I already had in the house and bought some store-bought strawberries to dip. It all came out so freakin' cute!

Lastly, what's pasta without a nice wine pairing to go along with it? I reached for a bottle of one of my faves with J.Lohr Wines to really set the scene and my palette. So get all dressed up, and act as if your home is a fancy restaurant! If you'd like even more ideas on some cute accents then check out my blog post that features some adorable rose-shaped ice cube molds!
2.) Valentine's Day - Make More Than Memories...Make a Rug!
Told ya these would be cool, out-of-the-box Valentine's date ideas! This is such a unique and fun activity that encourages quality time with your favorite person or people, if you'd like to go all out with your entire crew! If you live in NY or NJ, then you can book it with Remarkable Rugs, located in Brooklyn. It's $350.00 for couples and $150.00 per gyal if you're planning on a Galentine's Day date! And even if you go with your girls and decide to make the rug for your boo...What a special keepsake for your favorite person to remember you by!
3.) Speakeasy
I don't know what it is about a speakeasy, but it is like the epitome of the ultimate date-night-out for introverts, like myself. It might have something to do with the candlelit moody vibes...the jazz music...and the savory menu. I mean I could go on, but need I say more...??
4.) Comedy Show
Most people like to laugh and so a comedy show is a great way to spend Valentine's day with bae as y'all chuckle the night away. I've gone to Levity Live several times and albeit the pricey food & cocktails are definitely mediocre at best...You're really there for the laughs anyway. I was able to catch a show with one of my faves, last year, Comedian, Godfrey, and would you look at that...Guess who is performing again at Levity Live, in West Nyack just in time for Valentine's Day. Get your tickets before they sell out!
5.) Write a Heartfelt Love Letter
There is just something about a beautifully, handwritten love letter from your favorite person that just tickles one's fancy. If you're not the best at expressing your feelings & emotions, then try making a music playlist with your lover in mind. Some of the best words and thoughts of your special person are best described, expressed, and felt via a song. Just include the songs that instantly remind you of your person when you hear them. Then exchange playlists with each other and have a dance party or dance off in the living room. If you wanna take things even further make a love letter pastry...Yes, you heard right...I literally made a pastry that mimics that of a love letter (see below image). If that's not the sweetest way to say 'I love you,' then I don't know what is haha!! Recipe is linked here!

6.) 10 Things I Love About You
I love this fun activity because it makes you realize just how much your partner adores you when you hear them say things they love about you. Especially, things that you didn't even realize they noticed or would have ever thought to mention! Or even new things. These traits can range from physical attributes, quirks, skills, hobbies, or just you liking the way their mind works. I think a series of characteristics from each category make for the best lists. Bonus points if you want to take things further with a fun store scavenger hunt where you purchase 10 of your partner's favorite things. View the specific list referenced below...Make it challenging by setting a max budget, which would prove rather difficult for bougie people like myself haha!! Anyway, you can really have so much fun with this activity!
Valentine's Day Store Scavenger Challenge
1.) Your Partner's Favorite Snack
2.) Your Partner's Favorite Drink
3.) An Item Your Partner Would Like That is also Their Favorite Color
4.) Something That You Think Your Partner Needs (I may have taken this too far once when I purchased snoring aids for a former beau of mine...His response, "very funny..you got jokes," but I couldn't stop laughing haha!!)
5.) Something That Your Partner's Been Mentioning That They Need
6.) Something That Reminds You of Your Partner
7.) Something You Want Them To Try (Is it bad that I purchased snoring aids twice?? Jk I didn't take it that far haha!!)
8.) Something That They Love (You can save some coins here by just putting a bow on your head and calling it a day, although that might low-key be considered cheating haha!!)
9.) Something That Brings Back a Memory of You Two
10.) A Couple's Game Set
7.) A Candid Photo Shoot
This just seems like something that would be super fun, spontaneous, and nostalgic! So if you're up for it..Go buy a Polaroid and take random selfies together...Make funny faces. The best thing about pictures is that they are the best memory keepsakes. For ladies who want to take things up a notch...Be bold and book a boudoir session if you'd like an extra special keepsake for your partner (Now, I'm no one's mother, however..My blog=My two cents haha...Just make sure you're in a serious relationship (Preferably, one in which your partner put a ring on it-Hey just my unsolicited advice, but it may just help someone out there) if you want to give such a beautiful gift. Or just maybe a gift for yourself..Hey listen, I promote having love for yourself so much because I feel like you can't pour from an empty cup and you got to feel whole before you can give love to someone else. My friendor, Ashleigh Wilson, is a high-end Professional Photographer, who specializes in boudoir photography and will make you feel at ease in front of the camera so that you can exude your femininity in all it's glory. You can book a session with her here.
